Tarta cu caramel (Caramel tart)

Imi propusesem de ceva timp sa fac caramel si uite-ma cu ustensilele la indemana, cu zaharul pe masa, pregatite pentru un sos delicios si foarte simplu. Asta este doar prima incercare, asa ca nu pot sa va spun daca chiar e cea mai buna reteta de caramel, dar voi incerca si alte retete si va tin la curent :)

In episodul asta am aruncat 100g zahar intr-o tigaie si l-am lasta pe foc mediu sa se topeasca. In momentul in care zaharul s-a topit si  a prins o culoarea aurie am adaugat 200ml de smantana lichida si am continuat sa amestec lasand tigaia la foc mediu. Initial zaharul s-a mai intarit, insa am insistat, amestecand incontinuu pana cand s-a dizolvat tot. Am lasat sosul putin la racit si apoi l-am transferat intr-un borcan. La inceput am facut cateva thumbprint cookies, la fel ca aici, cu mentiunea ca le-am bagat la cuptor fara nicio umplutura si cand au fost gata le-am pus caramel si apoi la frigider peste noapte sau cel putin 2h.

Asa, sa revenim la caramel. Am facut un aluat de tarta ca aici, l-am copt si apoi am umplut cu sosul de caramel si am pus decorat cu niste nuci pecan si uite ce-a iesit:

I had in mind for some time to make some caramel, so here I am with all tools ready, sugar on the table, ready to prepare a caramel sauce, very delicious and super easy. This is only my first go at it, so I cannot say whether this is really the best caramel recipe, but for sure I will try other recipes and will keep you updated :)

In this episode I have used 100g sugar, put it in a pan over medium heat to melt. As soon as the sugar melted and started to turn brownish, careful here not to burn it, I added 200ml liquid cream and kept on stirring leaving the pan over medium heat. Initially the sugar got a bit hard, but I continued to stir until all dissolved. I left the sauce to chill for a couple of minutes and then put it in a jar. First I have used the sauce to fill some of the thumbprint cookies, like here with the small difference that the caramel I only added once the cookies were baked and then I left them in the fridge over night (or at least for 2h or so).

So, coming back to our caramel..I baked a tart, just like here and then filled it with the caramel sauce and decorated with some pecan nuts. Aaand here it is:
