Friday’s treat – Thumbprint cookies

Am hotarat sa incep o rubrica, ca tot e la moda 🙂 O sa fie Friday’s treat, adica in fiecare vineri colegii mei se vor bucura de un desert..adica sper eu ca se vor bucura, ramane de apreciat pe parcurs. Primul episod a fost cu success- thumbprint cookies, nu traduc in romana ca suna cam ciudat, in orice caz sunt deliciosi!

Ingrediente (30 cookies)

250g unt la temperatura camerei

5 linguri de zahar

1 ou

400g faina

gem pentru umplut amprenta (eu am folosit de capsuni )

Am mixat bine untul cu zaharul pana cand s-au topit particulele de zahar, apoi am adaugat oul si am mixat pana la omogenizare. Am adaugat faina treptat pana cand aluatul adevenit omogen si nu s-a mai lipit de degete, fiind in acelasi timp putin moale. Am pregatit o tava, am intins o hartie de copt si am inceput sa fac bilute, nici prea mari, nici prea mici lasand intre ele cativa cm distanta. Fiecare biluta am turtit-o cu degetul mare ca sa fac loc gemului. Le-am dat la cuptorul incins la 180g pret de vreo 35 min, pana cand au inceput sa se rumeneasca pe margini, atunci sa stiti ca sunt gata.

I have decided to start a new section given it’s very popular on food blogs 🙂 It will be called Friday’s treat, which means that every Friday my colleagues will enjoy a nice dessert…or at least I hope they will enjoy it, we’ll see how it goes. First episode was successful- my thumbprint cookies were delicious!

Ingredients (30 cookies)

250g butter, room temperature

5 tablespoons sugar

1 egg

400g flour

jam for filling n the thumbprints (I used strawberry jam )

I mixed very well the butter with the sugar, until sugar crystals melted and then added the egg and continued mixing for another 1 min or so. I slowly added the flour and incorporated it into the butter mixture until it was homogeneous and it didn’t stick on fingers, staying at the same time a bit soft. I took a tray, I covered it with baking paper  and started making balls, making sure I left a couple of cm between them. I pressed each ball with my thumb to make room for the jam filling. Once all balls had a print and jam I put the tray in the preheated oven, 180 degrees, and left to bake for 35 min, until the cookies turned a bit golden on the edges.
